The Supra was a nice car for it’s time... But there’s nothing so special about it for the used market to be going this crazy. Yes, I know the dealership put it up at that price to fuck with people, but even then, what they paid for at BaT is way too much.

I’m actually a bit surprised by that. I guess my anecdotal/local evidence isn’t quite in line with national sales. I’m used to a wider spread with the best examples into 6 figures and the real beaters in the low 30s

I think that the big jump in price probably came when the modern NSX was released, same with the Supra. As the time to the release got closer, prices went further up.

Our CFPB is very strict so "markups" aren't really a thing.... but I think that it will be the same as the Stinger. Dealers will overestimate the rareness of the car, but some few will buy them maybe 5k above, and then six months into the release they'll do MSRP.
